70 min. Vinyasa Yoga Zoom Class

Physio-led Gentle Yoga for Healthy Aging

This practice provides calm, strength and grounding, offering a space where you can find balance. Through mindful movement and deep breathing, it encourages the release of tension and fosters a sense of inner peace.

This 70 min Vinyasa Yoga class is a slower paced organic flow of movement and breath, suitable for all levels of experience and flexibility.

We start class with centering and pranayama (breath work) followed by a warm up into a sequence of forward bends, twists, backbends, standing poses and a guided muscle relaxation at the end. With a focus on building strength, awareness and mobility this class will also boost your mood and relieve stress.

All levels are welcome as long as you honour your own pace. 

There are modifications or advice for using props to support your practice available at all times.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Download the Zoom app on mobile or desktop (free)

2. Sign up for your virtual class on the schedule page (right here)

3. You’ll get a Zoom link in your confirmation in your email to use when class begins.

4. You’ll also get a reminder email 15 minutes prior to the start time.

5. You’ll be admitted from the “waiting room” at the time of class.

6. Your video can be on or off. All participants will be muted when class begins. Practice along and enjoy.

*Class may be last-minute cancelled. Pre-registrants will get an email when this happens. Cancelling is rare, but if it happens it's likely due to illness or an emergency.

Mandy Engelke Desmond is an online yoga teacher who began practising yoga and pilates 25 years ago as part of her physiotherapy training in Germany.

Since 2008 she is a certified Pilates Mat Instructor and a certified Ohashiatsu Consultant.

Mandy completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2016 with Betsy Case at Yoga Haven,NY. 

With clarity and ease, Mandy guides her students through vinyasa style classes emphasising on building awareness, foundation, alignment and strength.

Her positive and calm personality encourages her students to explore and trust their own abilities and find joy in movement.

Her Pilates classes are a combination of classical Pilates principles and her PT experience.
